Meet George: Yoga, Books, and Beyond

Hi! When one of my clients asked about me recently, I thought it might be a good idea to share a bit more. I live with my family in the green (ish)! suburb of Ham.

I teach yoga in Parade's End bookshop, where the calm atmosphere complements our mindful yoga practice.

Cooking and baking are passions of mine. I enjoy experimenting with vegetarian recipes and creating delicious meals for my family and friends. I made this 'Kale and Butternut' tart recently from Anna Jones 'A Modern Way to Eat'. It was delicious but took far too long to cook. I got the whole family involved and it still took over 2 hours!

I enjoy reading, particularly historical fiction novels. I love being transported to different eras through the eyes of captivating characters. I enjoyed the relationships between the sisters ‘The Garnett Girls’ recently (available to purchase at Parade’s End Books!). It’s set on The Isle of Wight which I know pretty well. But ‘Any Human Heart’ is an epic read I recommend!

I love travelling when possible.... Exploring different cultures, people, places and food is an immense privilege. This pic is me in Amsterdam at the Museum of Contemporary Art. I was quite surprised to find some funny and interesting works there done by Robbie Williams- who knew? (I was a Take That fan and still have my ticket from their first ever tour at Options Kingston- now known as Prism!)

Through my yoga classes, I aim to create a welcoming space for everyone. My practice started as stress relief and with the physical benefits. Over the years its actually the philosophy and history of yoga that makes it most beneficial, that's what I try to share in my classes. It’s about more than just physical exercise; it’s about community and well-being too

Thanks for reading.
